Welcome to the weekly breakdown of the top matchups in Utah High School Boys Basketball. This week brings the start of crucial region play and some must-see non-region contests!
🗓️ Monday, December 8, 2025
West Jordan at Copper Hills
Game Notes: The “Battle for West Jordan” is always a great cross-town rivalry. Both teams feature strong guard play.
Key Players/Context: Look for Copper Hills’ Isaiah Reiser (approx. 18 PPG) and Jacob Curtis. West Jordan relies on Ian McIntyre and Brock Litchfield. Expect the Copper Hills fans to be out in full force!
West at Wasatch
Game Notes: Wasatch is considered “loaded” this year and is a team no one wants to see in the playoffs. West is a capable shooting team that can keep any game close.
Key Players/Context: Wasatch is favored to win on their home court.

The start of Region Games in many classifications!
Murray at Judge Memorial
Game Notes: First Region 10 game for both teams. Both had slower starts than expected but are projected to make a strong run in the 4A state tournament.
Key Players/Context: A big early test for both programs.
Alta at Herriman
Game Notes: This is set up to be a tremendous game featuring high-level guard play.
Key Players/Context: A great individual matchup between Dash Reiser (Alta) and Carlo Mulford (Herriman, 19.1 PPG last season).
Bingham at Davis
Game Notes: A tough non-region game for Bingham, who has been battle-tested with a difficult schedule.
Key Players/Context: Expect a great game featuring Bingham’s Luke West (18.7 PPG last season) and Parker Sneedecker against Davis’s JT Turley (12.6 PPG last season).
Dixie at Timpview
Game Notes: Dixie is disciplined, tough, and physical. Timpview must be cautious not to let Dixie get any hope and keep the game close in the fourth quarter.
Key Players/Context: Timpview is the likely winner, but expect a physical contest.
Park City at Jordan
Game Notes: Park City (#8 in 4A) is a surprise team facing a significant road test.
Key Players/Context: This will be a big-time game for the Miners.
Pine View at Bishop Gorman (NV)
Game Notes: Pine View travels out of state to take on a top national program.
Key Players/Context: A huge challenge and test for the 4-1 Panthers.
West Field at Woods Cross
Game Notes: A “sneaky good game.” West Field has shown they know how to win close games. Woods Cross is currently undefeated (3-0).
Key Players/Context: West Field has a quality squad.

Crimson Cliffs at Cedar City
Game Notes: Region 9 matchup.
Key Players/Context: Crimson Cliffs is senior-heavy and a good team.
Park City at Roy
Game Notes: Both teams are off to solid starts, with Roy at 5-2 and Park City at 4-2.
Key Players/Context: Two programs making moves this season.

Game Notes: A big 4A match-up. Timpanogos has talent, including Jaxen Mccuistion (20.2 PPG last season), but has had a slow start and is looking to turn things around.

Westlake vs. Cottonwood
Game Notes: Non-Region.
Key Players/Context: A great game between a top 6A team and a top 4A team.
Farmington vs. Dixie
Game Notes: Non-Region.
Key Players/Context: Expected to be a quality game between two strong programs.
